The earliest memory I have of Nicole was at Mountainview Elementary, when she was in a few of my classes. The memory that always stuck with me was that she always had the sweetest smile that lit up the room when she showed it. She was not a disabled person, she was a girl with a disability. She was a child just like the rest of us, but had more struggles, making her stronger than any of us could ever hope to live up to. I remember how many of us wanted to push her around in her wheelchair, and how much we enjoyed saying hello to her in the mornings and before lunch. My last memory of her is on picture day this year, when everyone was trying to get a smile out of her. It was touching to see all of the love that was shown by the people around her--something that I will never forget. When her smile came, all I could do was smile. You have a wonderful daughter. You all are in my prayers, and I pray that you all become stronger in the Lord because of all of this.
With love,
