Bonnie and Matthews family - Dan came to Blueville Church and immediately became one of the greatest encouragements that I have encountered in church. There were a couple of churches that Dan had visited with - one in Morgantown and one in Gladesville, I think... maybe another in Howesville, and he wasn't greeted much at either place even though he had historical connections with the members in those churches. He showed one Sunday and I thought I recognized him from Bob Cooper days in Grafton... and he shared a little history with me, and that his life was a little chaotic, but he "didn't want no trouble." He would just be quiet on the back row.
Well, about week 3 on the back row, he accepted a lunch invitation from us to come home after church, and we were immediately charmed... and entertained. This brother is a first class disciple of Jesus Christ if ever I met one. And I would not hesitate to say, I wouldn't blink from buying a used car from this man, and that's a compliment I would be reluctant to give to most preachers I know.
I share your grief, and I share the anticipation of the resurrection being a better experience because of saints like Dan. God bless.
