I've known Becky for over 40 years. I've never met a mother so dedicated to her family and her friends. She's the most selfless person I know. She would always go above and beyond for anyone, family, friends, strangers, etc. She dedicated her whole life to helping others, even before herself. They broke the mold when they made her.
A story I'd like to share that pops into my head above all others:
Tawny and I had gone out clubbing for the night and when we got back to Becky's house we were starving! I told Tawny I'd LOVE to have her mother's famous pizza (absolutely the BEST pizza I've ever had in my life). She said she didn't know where her mom's recipe was so I said "I'll go ask her." I gently knocked on the door so as not to wake up her dad (now keep in mind I've had a few drinks and I don't think I was as quiet as I thought I was) and I'm quietly saying "Becky! Becky! - where is your pizza recipe." Ha ha! She says, " I'll get it for you." Also, keep in mind, that it's about 2:00 am or later. She gets out of bed, finds the recipe, and continues to help us make this pizza. We're giggling and making this pizza and for a few moments, I think she was just happy to have us home safe and she was enjoying the banter. That's what Becky does, she gives her whole heart. She wanted to see her family safe and happy.
The Layman family has lost the matriarch of this family, the glue that holds them all together. If she has taught us all anything, it's how to give with your whole heart.
We all love you Becky and you will surely be missed by everyone who's heart you have touched.
Rest in peace, dear lady.
