Obituary of Betty Jean Sanders

Betty Jean Sanders, 82, of Morgantown, passed away April 30, 2022 at Mon Health Medical Center. Betty was born in Maidsville, WV on September 8, 1939, a daughter to the late John and Margaret Messoria Sanders. Betty served in the United States Army and later worked as a secretary for Cyphert Industries from 1978-2017. In her free time, Betty loved to bowl, play Bingo, and go on gambling trips. Betty is survived by her niece whom she raised as her daughter, Jennifer Sanders of Westover; Jennifer’s son, Avonte Payne of HI, whom she raised as a grandson; sisters, Deloris Regan of Vass, NC., Nancy Friel of Morgantown, and Bonnie Fecsko of Morgantown’ special niece and nephew, Melissa Buchanan (Dave) and Zachary Fecsko (Adair); a bonus nephew, Mikey Tennant, and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Rosalie Boone, Roberta “Bobbi” Cettin, Judy Kraft; and brothers, Forest “Sonny” Sanders and John Sanders. McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services. Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 2pm until the 4pm memorial service with Pastor Brian Kiehl officiating, where full military honors will be conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
