Obituary of Gerald Kyer

Gerald David “Jerry” Kyer age 79 of Fairmont Road, Westover passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born June 14, 1935 in White Sulphur Springs, a son of the late Fielding H. Kyer and Elizabeth Shrout Kyer. Jerry had been a salesman in the welding equipment industry and was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Jerry proudly served his country as a United States Air Force veteran and was also a Mason. Jerry enjoyed playing golf and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jerry is survived by two sons, Richard “Rich” Kyer of Morgantown and Stephen Kyer and wife Pam of Florida, two daughters, Sherry Kyer of Florida and Susan Foley and husband Mickey of Morgantown, three sisters Brenda Morgan, Jeannie Raatz and Joyce Ramsey, one brother, Charles Kyer and grandchildren, Melissa Pyles, Jamie Pyles, Seth Kyer, Matt Kyer, Erin Kyer and Camden Foley. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jo Kyer. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church on Dogtown Road from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Sam Starling officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and the United States Air Force military funeral honors.
