Obituary of Pamela Lerfald
Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pamela “Pam” Rae Meyer Lerfald passed away Saturday, May 16th, 2015, after a brief illness.
She was comforted by the daily support of her son Nathan and his family, and the knowledge of the affection of her other son, Matthew.
Pam was born December 24, 1948, to Al and Helen Meyer, both of whom
preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Nathan (Charmin)
Morgantown, WV, Matthew, Charleston, WV, sisters, Patty (Bob) Aasen of
Monticello, MN, and Kathy Thomas of Fargo, ND; and grandchildren, Erika, Kathryn and Andrew, Morgantown, WV.
Pam graduated from Mayville H.S. in Mayville, N.D. She went on to study at the University of North Dakota and later West Virginia State University where she graduated with a degree in
accounting. After marrying Sidney Lerfald of Mayville, N.D., the primary focus of the early years of her adult life was her family. She dedicated herself to raising her sons, Matthew and Nathan, and was a selfless and loving mother. She supported them through their schooling, sports, and other activities with their friends. Due to her consistent presence and her giving nature, she was viewed as a second mom by many of their friends.
Pam has worked in retail for the past thirty years. She worked for many years in Charleston, WV before moving to Morgantown where she was currently working at The Finery. She loved interacting with her customers and coworkers and found great satisfaction in her work. She especially enjoyed being able to discuss her family with anyone who would listen.
Pam spent the last chapter of her life living in Morgantown, WV, with her son Nathan and his family. This gave her the opportunity to participate daily in the lives of her grandchildren. Just as she had been with her children, she was a constant presence for their sports, activities, and day to day life, which was a blessing for both her and for them.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Scott’s Run Settlement House in Osage, WV.
Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, May 21st from 4-7 pm. In honoring her wishes, McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services following the services. Online condolences may be extended to the family www.mcculla.com.
