Obituary of Madison Brooke Statler
Please share a memory of Madison to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Madison Brooke Statler, 19, of Morgantown went to be with her personal savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Madison was born November 21, 2001 in Gastonia, NC a daughter of Gary D. Statler Jr. and Lisa Jo Haught Statler.
Madison was a 2020 graduate of Clay-Battelle High school and was a student at West Virginia University where she was studying Pre-Pharmacy. She also attended the Restoration Church International in Morgantown. Madison was a truly beautiful person both inside and out. Close family knew her as Madison, yet all her friends and acquaintances knew her as “Maddie”. To her sister, she was “Sissy”. She was a gifted student and athlete, and she excelled in anything she ever set out to accomplish.
Madison was loved and adored by all the lives she touched. She was a joy and blessing from the moment she was born. Her beautiful smile, precious laugh, unique personality (and sneeze) and kind heart made a lasting impression on all who have been left behind. Madison had it figured out on this Earth. She was not materialistic, and she enjoyed the very simple things in life. Quality time was her love language. She would light up if you simply took her to get a coffee or ice cream or would play with her hair. She loved West Virginia, camping, visiting National and State Parks, kayaking, biking, road trips and being with those she loved.
Madison had a full schedule, yet she was not selfish with her time. She was managing college courses in Pre-Pharmacy at West Virginia University, working on a pharmacy tech certification, taking small trips to see God’s beautiful creation on Earth and still made time for her boyfriend, family, and friends.
What can really be said to honor such an amazing child of God? We are so blessed to have been graced with your presence here on Earth. In 19 short years, you fulfilled your purpose, and your ultimate honor is hearing your Lord and Savior say, “Well done my child”.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish Madison’s memory include: her beautiful friend and loving sister, Alaina Jolise Statler, her grandparents, Michael David, and Charlotte Faye Haught of Wana, Gary Donald and Linda Sue Statler of Jakes Run, great grandmother Laura “Lee Lee” Lemley of Pentress, her boyfriend and best friend, Tanner Allen Hennen of Crossroads, WV; her beautiful Miniature Australian Shepherd Nash, and a host of loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and extended family members and friends.
Madison was welcomed into Heaven by her great-grandparents: William “Bill” and Gayle Haught, Learnie Lemley, Stanley and Martha Statler, and Archie and Florence Coen.
Family will receive friends at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, April 30th from 3:00- 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Rena and Apostle Joe Perozich officiating. Following the service, Madison will be laid to rest at Core Cemetery in the Miracle Run/Wana community. Due to COVID, masks should be worn, social distancing practiced and those in attendance are asked to kindly limit their time to fifteen minutes inside the funeral home.
