Obituary of Ralph M. Carrico

Ralph Milton Carrico entered his heavenly home on Thursday, July 16, 2015 while a patient at Fairmont General Hospital. He was born April 12, 1929, the 6th child of the late Elmer Carrico and Maude Wolfe Carrico. Ralph was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Carrico, Donald Carrico and Lantz Carrico, and two sisters, Dorothy Montgomery and Ruth Demoss. He was also preceded, in death by a niece, Susan Burner, and a great-grandson, Jonathan Kirby. His beloved wife of 50 years, Marie Woods Carrico, died December 19, 1999, and it is a comfort to the family to know that Ralph and Marie are reunited for eternity. Ralph is survived by daughter Brenda Jones and spouse Emrys Jones of Fallbrook, California and daughter Beverly Kirby of Morgantown West Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Andrew Jones, Holly Jones and Kevin Jones and spouse Maria, all of California; Bryan Kirby and spouse Erin Weller Kirby of Mars, Pennsylvania, Steven Kirby and spouse Angela Pagano Kirby of Beaverton, Oregon, and David Kirby and spouse Shelly Tennant Kirby of Morgantown, West Virginia. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren: Ian Jones of California, Kathryn Kirby and Kalea Kirby of Mars, Pennsylvania, and Iliana Kirby and Amalia Kirby of Beaverton, Oregon. Five nephews and four nieces also survive. Ralph was a Methodist and attended Crescent Hills Chapel in Westover. He attended WVU and Morgantown Business College. Ralph was a member of Masonic Lodge #4 AF & AM since 1955. He was a life member of Graphic Communications International Union. He was the secretary and treasurer of Allied Printing Trades Union of West Virginia 1956-57. Ralph worked for the Dominion Post for 37 years. After his retirement, he worked at various part-time jobs, most recently for 6 years as the custodian at Stepping Stones. He was an avid hiker and cross country skier. He was well known for his generous nature and his desire to help everyone. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Monongalia County Humane Society at 235 High St #401, Morgantown, WV 26505 or Stepping Stones at 400 Mylan Park Ln, Morgantown, WV 26501. To honor his wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Private graveside services will be held. McCulla Funeral Home will be in charge of his burial in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens and Stan Farr will lead the worship. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com
