Obituary of Franklin C. Rafus

Franklin C. Rafus, 87, of Westover, passed away on November 28, 2020, after a long illness. He was Catholic by faith. Franklin was born March 4, 1933, in Greer, WV, a son of the late Andrew and Veronica Kendralla Rafus. In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary M. Viola Rafus, November 1, 1993. His special sister-in-law, Edie Viola, was his caretaker since the death of his wife, Mary. Franklin was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Franklin retired from Monongalia County Schools, as a custodian and also from Thorofare Markets as a Produce Manager. He is survived by his brother, Andrew Rafus, Jr. and wife Jean; and sister, Frances Raven. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary, Anna, Victoria, Agnes, Josephine, and Cathy; and brothers, Joe, William, and Anthony. Edie would like to send a special thank you to Lori Rankin and her staff at Assisted Living at Evergreen and Morgantown Amedisys Hospice, Inc., especially Emily and Sara and everyone for their kindness, compassion, and professionalism. In honoring Frank’s wishes, he has been cremated under the direction of McCulla Funeral Home, and will be laid to rest with his wife, Mary, at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
