George Ronald Steele, Jr., age 91, of Maidsville, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. George was born in Thomas, WV on March 12, 1929, a son of the late George and Nellie Sutter Steele. George spent his working days as a coal miner. In his free time, George enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was also a member of the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle. George is survived by his daughters, Vickie Parrotta (KoKo) of Morgantown, Helen Walls of Morgantown, Terry Steele of Fairmont, and Sandy Huggins of Morgantown; daughter-in-law, Marcie Steele of Maidsville; brother, Jimmy Steele of MI; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife Miriam Steele; sons, Mark Steele and Dennis Steele; sister, Geraldine Konchesky; brothers, Don Steele and Bobby Steele; and son-in-law, Tom Walls. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to George’s neighbors, friends and Ruby Hospital for all their care and help. Family and friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 10 am until the service at 11 am. Due to COVID-19, please follow the guidelines of wearing a mask and keeping social distance. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
