Elsie Alberta (Weaver) Cole, 83, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on June 16, 2020. Elsie was born in Uffington, WV to Rex Glenn and Effie Weaver on December 19, 1936.
She attended Morgantown High School. She worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, waitress, and retail cashier and manager. She attended First Baptist Church at the Mall Lakeland with her daughter and son-in-law. She also attended Spirit Lake Community Church, Winter Haven, where she sang with the worship team. For many years, she was the choir director at Living by Faith Church in Morgantown, WV. She enjoyed camping, singing, reading, sewing, crafts, computer games, and most importantly, visits with her family. She was active in Ladies Oriental Shrine events and Amaranth for Diabetes.
Elsie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Jim Powers; her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Adelina Cole, and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Effie Weaver, husband Kenneth (Kenny) Cole, son Kenneth Glenn, infant daughter Dawna Marie and her sister Mary Ellen Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, take time to visit parents, grandparents, and other elderly. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Extended Care c/o Employee Fund, 625 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven, FL 33884.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hawthorne Inn Winder Haven/ Family Extended Care staff (Past and present), Senior Helpers, and Good Shepherd Hospice (Forsythe Hospice House) who lovingly cared for Elsie.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service. Burial will follow at WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
