Hershel Richard Mullins, 70, of Morgantown, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was born in Morgantown on March 25, 1950 to the late Richard Clifford Mullins and Mary Ellen Williams Mullins. Hershel worked as a Magistrate in Monongalia County for 32 years, serving as Chief Magistrate, which is the longest running magistrate in Monongalia County. He and his family also owned and operated Morgantown Ambulance Service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing and was a member of Mountaineer Golf Course. Hershel is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ida Delaney Mullins; sons: Hershel “H.R.” Mullins (Linda McGervey) and Christopher W. “CW” Mullins (Kristen) of Grafton; grandson: Liam Hershel Mullins; and his sister: Joyce Tennant (John). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Hershel’s memory, at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. A public visitation will be held at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd., on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm and again on Wednesday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Although the visitation is public, please remain vigilant about the recommendations of the CDC and local health departments.
