Ernest W. Park, 86, of Morgantown, passed away at Mon General Hospital on Friday, June 12, 2020. Ernest was born in Morgantown on August 10, 1933 to the late James R. Park and Dorothy Croucher Park.
Ernest served his country in the United States Navy for four years as an Aviation Mechanic. Following his service, he owned and operated Park’s Heating and Air Conditioning for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Westside Senior Center and loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Twila Price Park; daughter: Dr. Connie Park Rice (Cecil) of Morgantown; son: Kevin W. Park of Garner, NC; grandchildren: Joshua Rice (Trista) of Morgantown, Adam Rice (Megan) of Charlottesville, VA, Zachary Rice of Pittsburgh, Miles and Cana Park of Garner, NC; great grandchildren: Evelyn, Xander, and Halley Rice; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law: Pamela DeVall Park; sisters: Dorothy Casteel and Lillian Blosser; and brothers: James A. Park and William Park.
Friends and family are invited to attend a public visitation at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 10 am until the funeral service at noon with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Although the visitation is public, please remain vigilant about the recommendations of the CDC and local health departments. Following the service, burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with full military honors by the Westover VFW #9916 and the United States Navy Military Honors.
