Her family moved to WV when she was a senior at University High School and she remained in Morgantown for the rest of her life. She was married in 1941 to George William (Bill) Lawson and she raised her family of 6 children on a farm in Morgantown, Bonnie Jo (Thomas) Mardian, Gerald William (Betty) Lawson, Rebecca Ann Littleton, John Alan (Jeanne) Lawson, Gordon Wayne (Sheila) Lawson, and Thomas Ray (Debbie) Lawson. She is survived by her 6 children, a sister, Arhea Carleen Click, and 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was predeceased by her loving husband in 2008, 4 siblings, and 1 grandchild. Martina was a good neighbor and devoted friend to all who knew her. She raised her children and helped with farm activities while participating in community events. Always active with anything church related and those who needed help in the community knew who to call. Food was always available to those in need with a simple call. The burial took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV, with her husband, a veteran of WWII. A memorial will take place at a later date.
