There are so many wonderful memories of Aunt Linda.
For one, she was always the family chef. Creating classic holiday meals for the family, and consequently stressing about it. But the food was always so good! Especially the pies.
When I finished high school, I worked the night shift with her at the family bakery in downtown Morgantown. I have many fond memories of her covered in flour, yelling at my cousin and I to get back to work.
One of her standard duties was to give humorous cards to people for their birthdays and holidays. When I graduated from WVU and moved away from home, Aunt Linda’s cheeky birthday cards never failed to bring a smile to my face when they showed up in the mail box. She always wrote "Tee Hee" after the punchline - making it even funnier.
My proudest memory, though, is how she stayed with and took care of my Grandma Shillingburg in her later years. This had a big impact on me - reminding me of the importance of spending time with loved ones, especially one's parents.
Aunt Linda had a great sense of humor -- and sarcasm! She had a big laugh, a bright smile, and an open heart.
I will miss her very much.
