Obituary of John M. Brock
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Millard Brock, age 48, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at WVU Medicine, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Morgantown on April 29, 1971, a son of the late Millard and Ruby Virginia Stanley Brock.
John worked as a Frac Supervisor for Calfrac. He was close to his coworkers and thought of them as his brothers. John was also dedicated to serving others; serving in the US Army Reserves and being a proud longtime member of the River Road VFD. In his spare time, John enjoyed being in the outdoors; fishing, camping, sitting around the campfire, riding four-wheelers, and beach trips with his family. He enjoyed playing Rook and looked forward to the annual “Brock Family Rook Tournament”. John also was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates; where you could find him cheering them on through the good seasons and the bad. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Smyth Brock; daughters, Kate Brock and Brylee Brock; sons, Gavin Brock and Brayden Brock; granddaughter, Myla Webster; sisters, Debbie Coombs (John), Nora Wierbonski (Stephen), and Ellen Harker (Michael); brothers, Paul Brock (Janet), Tom Brock (Miriam), and Greg Brock (Autumn); and lifelong friend, Sammy Livengood.
Flowers will be accepted, but donations to the River Road VFD, 1701 River Road Morgantown, WV 26501, in memory of John would be greatly appreciated.
