Obituary of Barbara J. Darnell

Barbara Jean Darnell, 75, of Morgantown passed away at her sister’s home on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Barbara was born in Hancock, Michigan on June 25, 1944, to the late John George Miranov and Mary Louise Miranov.

Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for the needs of her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she ministered to the St. Mary’s Youth Group.  Barbara also enjoyed making flower arrangements, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 44 years, Warren Darnell; sons: Lucas Darnell (Kim) of Virginia and Matthew Darnell (Jill) of Uniontown, PA; sisters: Genny Calvert and Patty Matthews, brothers: George Miranov and Steve Miranov; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister: Elizabeth Miranov.

Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, December 13th from 4-7 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, December 14th from 10 until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial with Father Andrew Switzer as celebrant. Following the mass, McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services and Barbara’s remains will be inurned at St. Mary’s Peace Mausoleum.
