Obituary of Sylvia Shafer

Sylvia Ann Shafer age 84 of River Road, Morgantown passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Madison Rehab.  She was born February 25, 1935 in Fairmont a daughter of the late Abilio Bruno and Anna Brugnolia Bruno.

Sylvia was a homemaker and a life member of the Flaggy Meadows CEO.  She was an avid Mountaineer sports fan and a longtime season ticket holder for both football and basketball.  She always put her family first and absolutely loved doing things for them, especially for her special needs son, Rodney Glen Shafer.  She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

Sylvia is survived by one son and spouse, Tim and Karen Shafer of River Road, one daughter, Lurena Lindamood of Lexington Park, MD, grandchildren, Anna Shafer, Allison Shafer, Abby Shafer, Melanie Lindamood, Kenleigh Lindamood, Garrett Lindamood, and Justin Lindamood, and one great grandson, Grier Timothy Pierce, one brother and sister-in-law, Kenton and Theresa Shafer of Dale City, VA., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Arlen Glen Shafer, one son, Rodney Shafer, one sister Olga Truban, and one brother, Joseph Bruno.

Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 4-8 pm Monday with a Vigil service at 7:30 pm to conclude the service.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane from 9:00 am until the 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD, VE  as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Beverly Hills cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com.
