Obituary of Sonja Amalie Geiss Propst

Sonja Propst, 84 of Canyon Road, Morgantown since 1960 died on Nov 9, 2019 at the Sundale Nursing Facility shortly before midnight.

She was born on Dec 17, 1934 in Idar-Oberstein Germany, to the late Heinrich and Erna (Muller) Geiss.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Propst in 1975, a brother Hans Geiss, 2 sisters, Loni Iacopelli and Ursula Shafer and a grandson Eric Newlon.

She is survived by three daughters, Stefanie Propst and her son Lucas Milik, and great grandson Jordan Milik, Nancie Propst and her son Hunter Cornwell, Marlene Newlon and her children Alan and Pilar Ayala, and a sister Marlena Geiss of Oberstein Germany.

Sonja also leaves her dog Petey.

Sonja will be buried at the Mount Union Cemetery on the point Marion Road.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1pm at the Canyon Presbyterian Church on the Canyon Road. A covered dish donation at that time would be greatly appreciated or a monetary donation for burial expenses can be made to:
