Obituary of Lewis Campbell

Lewis James “Jimmy” Campbell, 86, passed away on January 23, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late James Campbell and Mary Christine Dawson. Jimmy grew up in Sabraton until he met his wife, Betty Lee Bucklew and moved to the Summer School Road. Later they moved onto the Tyrone Road where they have lived for 52 years and made their home raising a family. Together they had two daughters, Charlotte Sue and Donna Kay Campbell. Jimmy worked at Sterling Faucet for 46 years until his retirement. Following retirement, he spent his time gardening, working around the house, and helping his family. Family was his life. He also enjoyed watching TV and smoking his pipe. He is survived his wife of 69 years, Betty Campbell; daughter Donna Uphold and son-in-law Richard Deavers; granddaughter Lori Keslar, grandsons: David Goldsborough and Shawn Uphold, and three great- grandchildren: Sarah Goldsborough, Kira Uphold, and Kelsi Uphold; and four sisters Helen “Fuzzy” Ruffner, Sue Dalton, Linda Gibson, and Isaphine Silvey. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter Charlotte Sue Campbell Cress and his sister Ruth Make Peace. Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 27th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Thursday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com.
