Obituary of Roy Kincaid
Roy Green Kincaid, 78, of Granville WV passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Mapleshire Nursing Facility surrounded by his family. He was born November 21, 1940 in Hinton, WV son of the late Cecil and Maxine Kincaid.
Roy graduated from University High in 1959, where he was an outstanding 3 sport athlete. He served in the United States Army and in 1964, married his beautiful wife, the late Barbara Jean (Phillips) Kincaid.
He was a member of the local Carpenters Union and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed coaching and watching his nephews’ and grandson play sports. Roy loved the WVU Mountaineers, the Pittsburgh Steelers and was devoted to his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his daughter, Royce (Kincaid) Martin, grandchildren Ryleigh and Zack Martin. His nephews Mark (Kelley) Haseleu, Scott (Karen) Haseleu, niece Robin (Dave) Smith, great nieces Marianna (Jacob) Palmer, Alison Smith and great nephew Joey Smith. His brothers, Homer and Emmett (Bernice) Kincaid, his sister in-law Linda Kincaid, as well as many special aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, and his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his mother and father in-law, Mary (Fraze) and Robert “Pete” Phillips, brothers Vernon and Herbert Kincaid, sister Juanita (Kincaid) Hess, sisters in-law Joanne Haseleu and Lou Kincaid.
Roy’s wishes were for cremation which will be handled McCulla Funeral Home. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at his home in Granville on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM. All are welcome to come and share special memories with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McCulla Funeral Home to assist with cremation costs.
Roy’s family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses and staff at Mapleshire Nursing Facility for the amazing care and support they provided to him and his family.
