Obituary of Willa Jo Neely
Willa Jo Neely passed from this world Sunday, May 19, 2019, evening at Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont, formerly of Woodburn area of Morgantown, WV. She was born May 16, 1929 on Miracle Run, Monongalia County, WV, to the late George Franklin and Della Clovis Areford.
Willa Jo was preceded in death by the love of her life C. Gene Neely of over 60 years, and her late sisters Linda Hess and Betty Osso.
Willa Jo was a full time housewife and helpmate, but in her earlier years she had worked at Fredlocks Pharmacy, Whiteside’s Department Store, and The Hat Shop in downtown Morgantown. She was an Assistant Leader of the Woodburn Wildcats 4-H Club through the 1970’s and she helped her husband with his Telephone Pioneer’s community service projects.
Willa Jo is survived by one daughter Leslie Ann Clark and her spouse Howard Clark of Fairmont; grandchildren Jessica Clark Risser and her spouse Jason B. Risser, Elizabethtown, PA; Alex B Clark of Morgantown, and Jeremy D Clark and his spouse Megan L Clark, of Graysville, PA; great-grandchildren, Colt Clarence Clark, Landon Clark Risser, and Peyton Gene Risser, and nephews Robert Hess of Aberdeen, MD and Thomas Osso of Denver, CO, and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home in Westover from 3- 5 and 7-9 pm on Thursday, May 23 and on Friday, May 24 from 12-1pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 24. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. A memorial dinner after the service at Apple Annie’s off Pierpont exit of I-68.
