Obituary of Phyllis I. Orinick
Phyllis I. Orinick, age 78, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Mapleshire Nursing & Rehab Center with her family by her side. Phyllis was born in Morgantown on September, 18, 1939, a daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie Dezzutti.
Phyllis worked for many years at Davis & Lynch Glass Co. as a glass decorator, then later worked at Shoney’s as a dining room supervisor, and afterwards worked as a housekeeper and nanny for several families throughout Morgantown before her retirement. She also attended Cheat Lake Community Church and Community United Methodist Church.
In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the beach, and tending to her flowers. Her greatest love came from her family. She loved cooking big meals for them, and lived for her grandchildren. She was a loving mom, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Donald Joseph ”Skip” Spacht and wife Debbie of Mt. Morris, PA, and John Parrotta and wife Jennifer of Canal Winchester, OH; daughters, Carol Parrotta Copeland and husband Mike of Morgantown, and Tracy Parrotta Walker and husband Greg of Canal Winchester, OH; sister, Jean Opalka of Ford City, PA; brother, Joseph Dezzutti and wife JoAnn of VA; grandchildren, DJ Spacht, Brennan Petrucci, Tyler Copeland, and Annie Walker; and special friends, Bill and Jennifer Ogden and Terry and Kathy Taft.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Dezzutti; brother, Paul Dezzutti and his wife Dottie; brother-in-law, Paul Opalka; infant grandchildren, Shelby and Blake Walker; and former husband, John Parrotta.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carrie, Angie, Amy, Sandy, Vicki, Flo, Charles, and the many others who work in “Wing A” at Mapleshire for the loving care of Phyllis during her time spent there.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the Activity Fund at Mapleshire Nursing Home 30 Mon General Drive Morgantown, WV 26505.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 3 pm until the 5 pm memorial service with Pastor Brad Bennett officiating.
