Obituary of James "Jim" Lemasters
James Lee “Jim” Lemasters, 70, of Westover passed away at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab Center on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was born in Morgantown on July 16, 1947 to the late Mary Lemasters Sargent.
Jim was an Army veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Jim was a coal miner for Consol Energy and later worked and retired from West Virginia University as a custodian. He was a member of Westover VFW #9916. He loved the beach and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy Frazier Lemasters; daughters: Beth A. Hall and Jody Lynn Lemasters, both of Westover; granddaughter: Kelsey Hall; great-granddaughter: Jessie Hartley; his step-brother James Sargent;a sister-in-law Glenna Cutlip and her husband Charles and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers: Joseph Lamottie and Jackie Lemasters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Jim’s memory to Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 22nd from 4pm until the 7 pm funeral service. Military honors will be conferred by Westover VFW#9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
