Obituary of A. Robert Capiola

A. Robert “Bob” Capiola age 77 of Morgantown passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family.  Bob was born February 6, 1940 in Canonsburg, PA.

Bob was a graduate of Canonsburg High School in 1957.  Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on the Fourth of July, 1957.  After serving in the USMC, Bob obtained his Bachelor of Economics from West Virginia University.  He then had a long career in banking, most notably as a bank examiner for the F.D.I.C.  Bob was an avid reader, sports fan and music lover.

Bob is survived by  his wife of fifty years, Janet (Haines) Capiola of Morgantown, daughter, Jennifer (Capiola) Caldwell and husband Todd and grandson Samuel all of Newman, GA, son Robert Capiola and wife Simchah of Pittsburgh, his mother Ann Barbara Capiola of Canonsburg, brother Richard Capiola of Huntington Beach, CA and his sister, Catt (Capiola) George of Canonsburg.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, A. J. Capiola.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Mary Babb Cancer Center, WVU Hospital and Amedisys Hospice for the care and support they provided. 

Friends are invited to come and take part in celebrating Bob’s life at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 4 until 6 pm.  Military honors will be conferred by the Marine Corps League, Detachment 342 at 6 pm. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
