Obituary of Mary Freda Thomas

Mary Freda Royce Thomas age 90 of Westover passed away, Sunday December 17, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.  She was born October 29, 1927 in Cascade, WV a daughter of the late Kenneth Royce and Blanche Shahan Royce.

Mary was a longtime receptionist at WVU Hospitals with thirty years of service.  She attended Riverside Apostolic Church.  She was also a member of the Morgantown Senior Center, the Westside Senior Center, and the Kitchenaire Band.

Mary is survived by two sons, Sam (JoAnn) Thomas Jr. of Colorado and Michael A. (Bonnie R. Thompson) Thomas of Westover, one brother, Kenneth Royce of Morgantown, two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sabrina) Warsevich serving with the United States Navy and Jennifer (Karl) Casebeer of Colorado, five great grandchildren, Abby Warsevich, Cody Warsevich, Chandler Warsevich, Skylar Warsevich, and Lalunae Casebeer; and her companion Harold Whisler.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Sam Thomas and her step-mother, Edna Royce.

Graveside services will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery on Wednesday at 1:30 pm with Pastor Jon Henry officiating.  McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com.
