Obituary of John Lincoln Tomago
John Lincoln Tomago, age 78 of Granville passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from Parkinson’s disease a day after celebrating his 39th wedding anniversary with his loving wife Linda. John was born February 12, 1939 in Granville a son of the late Joseph and Mary Emma Jones Tomago.
John served with the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a coal miner at Arkwright Coal Mine in Granville and survived a coal mine collapse in 1978 that left him permanently disabled. John was very civic minded, serving both as mayor and councilman for the town of Granville many years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Moose, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and watching football and basketball on TV.
John was a true family man who delighted in his children and grandchildren. His favorite times were spent being with them, attending their sporting events and always cheering them on. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

John is survived by his loving wife, soulmate, and best friend, Linda Sue Kent Tomago, two daughters, Janna Marks and husband Jack of Delran, NJ, Michelle Boyers and husband Nicky of Granville, one son John Brian Tomago of Granville grandchildren, Joshua Tomago, Skylar McCormick and wife Kerri, Kent Boyers and Levi Boyers and great grandchildren, Wyatt McCormick, Lakyn McCormick, and Lexie and Wyatt Calvert.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Trudy Tomago, brothers Joseph, Howard, Albert, and Robert Tomago and two sisters, Gladys Rohrbaugh and Anna Belle Tasker.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 4-8 pm Friday and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Vicki Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and the WVANG funeral honors.
