Obituary of Ruby Pearl Kelly

Ruby Pearl Jones Kelly, 96, of Portsmouth, VA, formerly of Westover, passed away on September 25, 2017 at the Mayfair House in Portsmouth, VA with her family surrounding her. Ruby was born in Masontown, WV on January 27, 1921 to the late Stonewall Jackson “Jack” and Bertha Sterling Jones.

Ruby was a LPN at Vincent Palloti and Mon General Hospitals where she enjoyed working and caring for many friends and family members. Ruby was a people person who loved helping others and mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a protestant by faith.

Ruby is survived by daughters, Carol S. Kelly and Angela D. Cole and her husband Robyn; both of Carmichaels, PA; son Lewis Harmon Kelly and his wife Audreynell of Suffolk, VA; one sister Louise Kerns of Laurel Point, WV; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Mary Anne Kelly.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Kelly; daughters Janet Louise Kelly and Barbara J. Antonelli; son Gerald W. Kelly; brothers Paul Jones, Robert Jones, Earl Jones, Curtis Jones, and Donald Jones; and sisters Olive Wade, Hazel Worm, and Lucille Grossal.

Friends are invited to gather in support of the family at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4-8 pm and on Saturday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
