Obituary of Kenneth George Dalton

Kenneth George Dalton, age 81 of Beulah Road, Morgantown passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 4, 2017.  He was born in Morgantown on June 17, 1936 the beloved son of the late William Dalton and Melva Davis Dalton.

Kenny attended Sabraton School and Morgantown High and was a United States Army veteran.  He was a retired coal miner for Consolidation Coal Company and also worked at Morgan Shirt Company as a bundle boy.  At the age of sixty Kenny received his GED, an accomplishment both he and his family were proud of.

Kenny so enjoyed being with his three daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He had such a warm smile and possessed both a witty and ornery personality.  He was a loving and caring husband father grandfather and great grandfather.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Wilma Ruth Reckart Dalton whom he married in Oakland, MD on August 14, 1954, three daughters, Sheila Ann Harvey and spouse Rick of Morgantown, Deborah Joyce Summers and husband Bill and Sherry Lynn Bosley of Morgantown, grandchildren, Matthew, Brandi, Mandy, Candy, Jason, Adam, Kari, Christopher, and Cody and great grandchildren, Addisyn, McKennah, Liam, Bella, Michael, Leia, Anna, Mazzie, Willa, C.J., Skylar, Madisyn, Trevor, Landon, Javon, Tyler and K.K. and several nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by one sister, Edna May, brothers, Norman and Ronald Dalton and a great grandson Robert Matthew Mercer.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Seicriest, Dept. of Neurology at WVU, Amedysis Nurses who were such a blessing to dad and the family and special thanks to his daughter Sherry who was his primary caregiver and took care of dad with such love and compassion.

Friends are invited to gather in support of the family at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7th from 11 until the 1 pm funeral service with Pastor Karen Glover officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Davis Cemetery with military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and the the WVANG Camp Dawson, Military Honors.
