Betty Margaret McRobie, 87, of Star City, WV went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Betty was born in Jere, WV on January 17, 1930 to the late Hobert and Freda Miller Shahan.

Betty worked as a factory worker at Star City Glass, but was most notably a homemaker who tended to the needs of her family. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Star City and was deeply devoted to spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by three sons Tom and Peggy Rowan, John and Lena Rowan both of Morgantown, WV and Pastors Ernie and Bonnie Rowan of Kingwood; three daughters Rose & Dr. Rick McCartney of Ohio; Kathy Rowan, and Edith and Aaron Gibson of Morgantown; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two sisters Linda Sue Corley and Gloria Dean Poling both of Morgantown; and many extended family members, neighbors, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband William Alfred McRobie and four brothers: Jim, Vernon, Dick, and Denzil Shahan.

The family wishes to thank her grandson, Jeff Rowan for his loving care for his grandmother and Ruby Hospital’s Hospice Care Unit for their care and compassion for Betty and her family.

Friends are invited to gather in support of the family at McCulla Funeral Home on Sunday, June 25th from 4-8 pm and on Monday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Willard Rowan officiating.
