Obituary of C. Dan Houck
Charles Daniel (Dan) Houck Jr. age, 67 of Morgantown passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 11, 1950 in Beckley and raised in Kingwood, a son of the late Charles Daniel Houck and Dorthea Harvey Houck.
Dan was the owner of Amiable Insurance Services, Inc. where he served as an agent servicing clients with health, life insurance and employee benefits. As a friend of Bill Wilson, Dan was able to provide experience and guidance to many of whom he came into contact with for many years. Dan was a Vietnam War Veteran serving with the United States Marine Corps. He was also a Master Mason, belonging to Joseph W. Summers Lodge # 173 and the Scottish Rite.
Dan is survived by his wife, Pamela Viands Houck, sons, Daniel Gregory Houck and wife Kelly of Swedesboro, NJ; Samuel Augustine Houck of Morgantown; daughter, Kathryn (Kat) Danelle Houck of Cleveland, TN, sisters; Dorthea Dawn Houck of Albuquerque, NM; Danelle Hamill Houck and Ed James of Ellicott City, MD and five grandchildren whom he adored.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s memory to the Zelda Stein Weiss Cancer Center C/0 Monongalia General Hospital Foundation, 1200 J.D. Anderson Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Pam Shier officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with graveside Masonic Services provided by Joseph W. Summers Lodge # 173 and military honors conferred by the Westover VFW Post # 9916.
