Charles G. Richards, Jr., age 89, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Charles was born in Morgantown on August 5, 1927, a son of the late Charles and Ida Mae Zooner Richards. Charles proudly served his country, serving in the U.S. Army and later worked for many years as a coal miner. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Charles is survived by his sons, Charlie Richards, Russell Richards, and William Richards and wife Tammy, all of Morgantown; brothers, Jerry and Harold Richards; grandson, Dylan Richards; also surviving is Robert Richards who he resided with and thought of as a son. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Richards; sisters, Joann, Minnie, Shirley, Mary, and Emma; and brothers, Raymond, Robert “Bob”, and Melvin Richards. Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 7, from 4-8 pm. In following Charles’ wishes, there will be no funeral service.
