Mary Theresa Basile age 87 of Riverview Avenue, Westover went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 13, 2017. Mary was born August 15, 1929 in Shinnston, WV a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Fuccy Bartolo. Mary worked for the Social Security Administration before becoming a full-time homemaker and mom. She was an active church member at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Westover. She was a prayer group member and coordinated the prayer chain for over thirty years at both churches. She was also a teacher of religious education and was a choir member. Mary was also involved in her community as a member of the Westover Women’s Club. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals and was a tremendous baker. Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, Carl Basile, daughter, Carla Comer and husband Michael of Fairmont, son, Michael Basile and wife Amelia of Pittsburgh, one sibling, Sister Cabrini Bartolo of Louisville, KY and four grandchildren, Bryen and Braden Comer and Joseph and Mason Basile. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those at 2 South Sundale for the loving care and kindness shown to Mary. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday with a Vigil service at 7:30 pm conducted by Deacon John Yaquinta to conclude the visitation. Visitation will be held Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial with Father Andrew Switzer as celebrant.
