Obituary of Stanley Jackson Moore
Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stanley Jackson Moore, age 62, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at home. Stanley was born in Morgantown on October 30, 1954, a son of Richard Moore and the late Donna Davis Moore.
Stanley was a graduate of St. Francis High School, where he loved playing football and basketball and was on the team that won the basketball championship during his senior year. He also played baseball for WVU. He provided many years of enjoyment for his family, as they watched him participate in these sports. His love of sports continued as he found great joy in following his sons throughout their sports careers. In addition to sports, Stanley enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding his four wheeler with friends and family. He also loved working in his yard and took great pride in this. One of his greatest joys was spending time at his parents’ house during holidays and family celebrations.
Stanley worked for the URS Corporation at NETL and West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey.
In addition to his dad, Stanley is survived by his wife, Gale Moore; sons, William Stanley Moore of Jacksonville, FL and Richard Jared Moore of Morgantown; sisters, Diane L. Weaver of Fairmont, Sharon Finley of Wilmington, NC, and Kathleen Morabito of Largo, FL; uncles Gary Moore of Melbourne, FL and David Davis of Morgantown; and aunt Kay Shepherd of Gainesville, GA.
