Obituary of Betty Lue Wolfe

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Betty Lue Wolfe, 72, of Westover was taken to her home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 19, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. Lue was born in Morgantown on September 18, 1944 to the late Homer C. Davis and Lue Anna Mason Davis. She was a lifelong resident of Westover, and spent 72 years of life brightening the hues of those around her. Her contagious smile and generous spirit will be dearly missed. She married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Wolfe, in 1962 and celebrated three children. She began working for Monongalia County Board of Education in 1969, where she touched the lives of countless students as they passed through the doors of Flatts Elementary, and Westover Junior High. She finished her career at the Monongalia County Board Office as an executive administrative assistant, retiring in 2010. Lue was a lifetime member of the Westover United Methodist Church where she spent many devoted years supporting the church in many ways and making herself available to help move forward the Kingdom of God. Lue and Lloyd were property owners at Alpine Lake Resort in Terra Alta, WV, spending many vacations, holidays, and weekend getaways with family and friends. It was truly a home away from home and where her ashes will be kept. Lue leaves behind her children; Laura L. Blake and her husband Shawn of Morgantown; Lloyd Scott Wolfe and his wife Michelle of Morgantown; and Greg Wolfe of Morgantown; grandchildren Rayanna Wolfe, Christian Wolfe, Kate Wolfe, Jackson Wolfe, Georgia Blake, and Hudson Blake all of Morgantown; her sister Barbara June Davis of Morgantown; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Lue was met at Heaven’s gates on her mother’s birthday and into the arms of her soul mate and best friend, Lloyd Wolfe, her daughter-in-law Missy Wolfe; sisters Madeline Bates and Virginia Nicholson; and brothers Harold Davis, Homer Davis, and Donald Davis. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Drs. Michael Craig and Sandra Pedraza and all of the wonderful nurses and staff at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Their care and compassion went far beyond mere medical treatment and her family will be forever grateful. Two very special people in Lue’s life spent countless hours with her in the last several months: taking her to appointments, shopping, lunch, and simply spending time with her. Doris (Woody) McGinnis and Becky Turton were true blessings in Lue’s life and selflessly gave of their time and love to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Lue’s memory to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center Comfort Fund, at: P.O. Box 9300 Morgantown, WV 26506, making note of comfort fund on the check. In the season of peace and joy, the family requests the attendance of their friends at the Westover United Methodist Church where her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 1-4 pm where a service will be held at 4 pm with Pastor Kim Belcher officiating. In honoring Lue’s wishes, McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
