Jack R. Fisher age 90 of Fairmont passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born March 15, 1926 in Lowsville a son of the late Clarence J. Fisher Sr. and Rose Marie Johnson Fisher. Jack was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, serving with the 25th Army Division in the Philipines and the occupation of Japan from 1944-1946. Jack was a retired postal worker and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 783. Jack attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairmont and was a life member of the Fairmont VFW Post #629 and Fairmont Senior Citizens. Jack is survived by three brothers, Pete Fisher and wife Helen of Fairmont, Bill Fisher and wife Patty of Fairmont, and Melvin Fisher and wife Vickie of Industry, PA, his companion, Sophie Rowan, a brother-in-law Harris Glenden Britton and wife Edna of Terra Alta and also many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Georgia Britton Fisher, in 1994 and one brother Clarence John Fisher Jr. and one brother in infancy. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown from 4-8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Glenn Stevenson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery with graveside military honors conferred by the Marion County Honor Guard and the WVANG funeral honors.
