Obituary of William Lawrence Tennant

William L. “Larry” Tennant of Bluffton, SC passed away December 9, 2016 after a short battle with stomach cancer with his loving wife of 37 years, Norma L. Farresa Tennant, at his bedside. Larry was born in Morgantown WV, January 21, 1945 to the late Jesse V. Tennant and Mary Ann King Tennant.
Larry graduated from University High and built a 45 year career at the Dominion Post retiring as an Advertising Executive. He was medically discharged from the WV Army National Guard in 1968.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by sister-in-law Dreama A. Lemley, brother-in-law Wayne A. Clemmer and niece Alicia D. Lemley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald M. Tennant and sister-in-law Donna K. Farresa Jewell.
Larry was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church before joining St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church while living in Morgantown and later at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Hilton Head Island, SC
Larry loved his time playing table tennis with his many friends, his Thursday golf game with Randy, Mike and Wade and his Friday golf game with the Bob Griffith group.
Larry and his wife extends appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Coastal Carolina Hospital, and to Agape Hospice for the excellent care and compassion during his illness. Also, Msgr. Joseph Hanley and Deacon John DeWolfe for their blessings and prayers.
In honoring Larry’s wishes, cremation services have been provided. Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 3 until the 4 pm memorial service with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com.
