Luther Rawley Stevens, 88, of Morgantown passed away peacefully at Sundale Nursing Home on December 6, 2016 with his family by his side. Luther was born in Morgantown on January 1, 1928 to the late Luther Jarrett Stevens and Mary Jenkins Stevens.
Luther began his working career at his family feedstore, L.J. Stevens Feed & Supply at a young age. He later worked for Dupont Chemical and Wheel & Rim of Fairmont and was the manager at Truck Equipment Warehouse for many years. He also drove for University Motors for 17 years. Luther loved the Lord and was a member of Faith Baptist Church and most recently Heart 2 Heart Ministries and was formerly a member of the Odd Fellows.
Luther is survived by his wife of 66 years Eleanor Elizabeth Ringer Stevens; daughters Karen Austin and husband Rick and Marjorie Lynn Kelly and husband Mike; son David Rawley Stevens and wife Sherri; grandchildren Michelle Austin Southern and her husband David, Richie Austin and his fiancée Anita Williams, Vanessa Lynn Kelly Cralton and her husband Aaron, Cassie Marie Kelly Tudek and her husband John, Kaleb Michael Kelly and his fiancée Marilyn DeSantis; great grandchildren Brayden Cralton, Aubrey Cralton, Oliver Kelly, Sarah Southern, Jacob Southern, and Caleb Austin.
In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his son Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Stevens, sister Anna Elizabeth Stevens McIe, brother Jarrett Milton Stevens, and his grandson Steven Matthew Austin.
Family and friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and again on Friday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
