Loxie. L. Chevuront Wood, age 93, of Morgantown, passed away to the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2016 at her home. Loxie was born in Weston, WV on March 1, 1923, a daughter to the late Homer and Letha Rexroad Chevuront. Loxie graduated from Weston High School and worked at Fairmont State College as a cook. She later moved to upstate New York where she worked in the criminal system as a cook and also a counselor at the Tryon School. In her spare time, Loxie enjoyed traveling, cooking, and sewing. She was also a member and past president of the Westover Lions Club. Loxie is survived by her three sons, Ronald C. Grubb and wife Mary, Gary L. Grubb, and David A. Grubb; her sister Ermaline Kilgore; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and niece, Vicky. In addition to her parents, Loxie was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth M. Grubb, her second husband, Kenneth J. Wood; her daughter, Marcia K. Grubb; sister, Opal Both; and brother, Edward Chevuront. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Loxie’s memory to the WV Lions Club Sight Foundation c/o Ronald Grubb 948 Independence Hill Morgantown, WV 26505. Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, from 7-9 pm and also on Wednesday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service. Burial will follow at the WV National Cemetery.
