Deepest sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Catherine Marie Calvi and especially to her daughter Daralouise Collins and her husband, Allan, and her grandchildren. Knew Catherine through her being mother of Daralouise who was similar in age to me and also was a dancing student at the Virginia School of Dance in Morgantown, WV ( i.e. tap dancing) NOTE Catherine was always very supportive of Daralouise in dancing and also in the high school band and if there ever was a stage mom Catherine could be termed the ultimate stage mom supporting her daughter and grandchildren in all activities. and who later would be come a wonderful educator and teacher in the Monongalia County public schools along with her husband Allan. However, Katherine was also known as a dynamic force and excellent organizer/administrator in oversight annually of the Beauty Pageant and Talent Show of the annual Monongalia County Fair when it was held in Westover , WV. Catherine also not only had excellent perception for the performing arts, but of beauty, nature and gardening having been involved in local garden club for many years. Her significance and importance she lent ot performing arts, education, developing youth, gardening and beauty of color, form, plants and people were characteristics she passed down to Daralouise in combination with being outgoing and forceful when needed to active goals established. In her business dealings at Manhattan Market, work with Colombian Lodge, and City of Westover , Catherine became a reliable resource which others recognized for advice, soothing wisdom and also sharing of humor and laughter knowing that along with hard work each one must also be happy and enjoy what they do and who they work alongside. Catherine deeply loved her late husband William Calvi and they were a regularly visible couple demonstrating love for one another, their family and community and friends. Catherine rebounded from loss of William, by remaining active and involved and becoming a doting grandmother. In all works and endeavors one constant was Love which evolved from her and was apparent to anyone who knew Catherine. Catherine loved her family, her friends and others in community and they knew it and reciprocated in kind. Westover , WV was all the better for having the input of both William and Catherine in many projects. Catherine always seemed to remain calm even when others would despair under deadlines or dilemmas…Rexcall Catherine working closely many years with late Charles Whiston at the Monongalia County Fair and also alongside Asel Kennedy. Catherine knew that through perseverance and treating all others as she wished to also be treated she would accomplish anything and thus her daughter Daralouise and son in law Allan followed in that mold and continued to impact the organizations in which they too participated with skill and ability. Blessings to all of the Calvi family and know that through sharing bountiful wonderful memories of great times spent with Catherine, that her memory will continue to enrich each of us and she will forever remain a part of the lives , minds, hearts, bodies and souls of all who were so fortunate to have known her. Blessings.
