Charles “Charlie” Van Jenkins, age 59, of Core, was carried into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at his home. Charles was born in Waynesburg, PA on November 1, 1956, a son of Lois A. Shriver Jenkins and the late Junior Jenkins. Charles worked at Sterling Faucet for 17 years and then as a Custodian for WVU for 21 years. He loved being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed cheering on the Mountaineers. His greatest love was playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of Dolls Run Christian Church. In addition to his mother, Charles is survived by his wife Paula Kay Coen Jenkins; daughters, Ella Jo Jenkins Conner and husband James “Red”, Amanda Kay Jenkins Stull and husband Michael, and Rebecca Ann Jenkins “Hi Baby” all of Core; sister, Janet Jenkins Coen of Core; brother, Glenn Jenkins of Core; special friends, Donna and Rodger Ozburn; grandchildren, Roselynn Jo Tennant, Joshua Ryan Conner, Aiden Caleb Stull, and Emma Joann Stull; father-in-law, Earl Lloyd Coen; In addition to his father, Charles was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Jo Ann Coen; brother-in-law, Harold Coen; sister-in-law, Lynn Jenkins; and special little buddy, Caleb Ozburn, AKA Turkey.com In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231. Friends may gather at Dolls Run Christian Church on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm and also on Saturday from 1 pm until the 2 pm funeral service with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating.
