Ruth Ellen Savage, 69, of Morgantown, formerly of Westover, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Mon General Hospital. Ruth was born in Morgantown on March 17, 1947 to the late Russell Claypole and Irene Delores Barnett.
Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed tending to the needs of her family. She will be remembered for the huge meals she prepared for her family and feeding all of the neighborhood children. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Ruth was a Christian by faith.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Rose Marie Walker and her husband Steve of Everettville; sons Delmar Savage and his wife JoAnn of Leesburg, FL, Dennis Savage and his wife Amy of Bridgeport, OH, and Steven Feathers of Cassville; a sister Kay Linger and her husband Roger of Leesburg, FL; a brother Junior Feathers of Ohio; her mother-in-law Rose Savage; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Dorothea Savage.
In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Raymond Savage, Jr.; a son Raymond S. Savage; her step-father Lester Feathers; and a sister Melinda Martha King.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Azar and his staff for the care they extended to Ruth during her illness and the Zelda Stein Weiss Cancer Center Infusion Center for the love and compassion they showed in caring for Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to McCulla Funeral Home.
Friends are invited to gather in support of the family at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27th from 7-9 pm and on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Brian Kiehl officiating.
