Betty Florence Letitia Gillespie, 83 of Morgantown, died Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born September 25, 1933, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Clarence Albert & Gertrude Elizabeth (Shaffer) Cobun. Betty was graduated from Morgantown High School. She worked at Owens Illinois and the Department of Human Services, in Fairmont, West Virginia. She was a licensed minister and the church organist of the Granville Apostolic Church. She served the church for sixty years with her pastor and husband, Rev. Bernard L. Gillespie, who survives her. She is also survived by a son and his wife, Bernie L. and Cheryl Gillespie II of Marion, OH; a daughter and her husband, Kathy and Bill Watson of Reedsville, WV; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Glowacki of Castle Rock, CO; Cassie George of Morgantown, WV; Ethan Gillespie of Findlay, OH; Madison Gillespie of Columbus, OH; Jesse and Anna George of Fairmont, WV; Great Grandchildren Gianna and Mike Riggs of Reedsville, WV; Callie Jo McDonald of Morgantown, WV; Rowan Gillespie of Findlay, OH; and Lucas Gillespie of Findlay, OH. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Louise Gillespie and a grandchild, Jared Alan George. The family greatly appreciates the help they received and the excellent care Betty received from Hospice and their caregivers Trenton and Sandy Trickett. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown from 3-6 pm Saturday and on Sunday from noon until the 1:00 pm funeral service.
