Ira Melvin Maust, III, 45, of Maidsville passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 with his mother by his side at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown. Ira was born in Morgantown on November 12, 1970 to Rebecca Ann Ammons Maust of Maidsville and the late Ira Melvin Maust, Jr. Ira was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served two years in Saudia Arabia and worked as a self-employed handyman. Ira loved reading and enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and participating in Civil War Reenactments. In addition to his mother, Ira is survived by his brother Joseph Maust of Maidsville, four aunts, five uncles, and five cousins. Ira was preceded in death by his grandparents and one cousin. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown from 4-7 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by the WV Army National Guard and the Westover VFW Post # 9916.
