William Bruce Rice, age 81 of Morgantown passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born November 7, 1934 in Wymps Gap, Pa. a son of the late William Bruce Rice and Minnie Martin Rice.
Bruce was a heavy equipment operator, was a 1954 graduate of University High School and was a Methodist by faith. Bruce had many different interests. He enjoyed watching western movies, reading books or running his backhoe. Bruce came from a musical family and enjoyed listening to country and Gospel Music. He was a family man who loved being with his grandchildren and animals.
Bruce is survived by his wife of forty years, Barbara Fletcher Rice, two daughters, Chesti Ann Celli and husband Michael of Morgantown and Minnie Peri Rice of Morgantown, one son Tommy Joe “T.J.” Rice of Morgantown, grandchildren, William Charles Gorbey, April Elizabeth Gorbey, Robert Charles Rice, Kaylee Jo Rice, special grandchildren, Joey Johnson, Kristen McClurg, great grandchildren, Ryanna Rose Gorbey, Tsarina Gorbey, Brice Andrews, Riley Andrews, and Ellie Mae Hoskins and an extra special buddy, Isaac Ross whom he loved dearly.
Bruce was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Hiner, one brother, Hartsel Rice and one great grandchild.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 3-5 & 7-9 pm Friday and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Tammy Phillips officiating.
