Evelyn Mae Neely age 88 of Fairmont Road, Morgantown passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Mapleshire Nursing Home. She was born September 20, 1927 in Morgantown, WV a daughter of the late Clyde John and Margaret James John.
Evelyn was an active member of the Covenant Evangelical Methodist Church, where she served on the Health and Welfare, Elderberries, Nursery and Choir. She was a homemaker and had been employed at Shepherd’s Day Care for ten years.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Douglas Keith Neely and wife Janice, Gregory Anthony Neely and wife Debra both of Morgantown, one daughter, Sherrie Neely Collins and husband Robert of Morgantown, grandchildren, Melinda Southerly and husband William, Michelle Turner and husband Lorenzo, Darin Neely and wife Dawn, Melissa Yondura and husband James, Derrick Neely, Bobbi Wilcox, Erin Boyers, Matthew Fowler and wife Kristen, step- grandchildren, Misty Eddy and husband Roy and Trent Neely and wife Jill and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Kenneth Neely, one sister, Wanda Branney, one brother, Ernest John and one brother that died as a toddler.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover on Monday, from 1:00pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service with Pastor Sean Wightman officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Covenant Evangelical Methodist Church SOCK fund, 802 Greenbag Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
