Esther Hiser age 90 of Lane Street, Westover passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Mapleshire Nursing Home. Esther was born July 6, 1926 in Maidsville a daughter of the late Louis Vargo and Julia Seggie Vargo. Esther had worked at West Virginia University Sorority as a housemother. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and sewing and was an avid Mountaineer fan. Esther is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann Hiser of Westover and one son John L. Hiser of Westover, grandchildren, Harry Hiser III and wife Carol, Tim Hiser and wife Tonya, Jill Eaglen and husband James, Holly Blosser, Andrea Hiser, Karen Shaffer, Larry Hiser, Karen McCabe, Lyn Fowler, Lindsey Werner, and Richard R. Hall, daughters-in-law Mary Hiser and Shirley Hiser and several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Hiser Sr., two sons, Paul L. Hiser and Harry L. Hiser Jr., three sisters Lydia Hoffmyer, Julia Markland, and Elizabeth Riley, brothers, Paul Vargo, Louis Vargo, and Joe Vargo and daughter-in-law Pamela Jean Hiser. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Mapleshire Nursing Home and especially Amy and Rachel for the love, care and support given to Esther.
