Walter Delmus Cress, 72, of Morgantown passed away on August 8, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Walter was born in Morgantown on July 1, 1944 to the late Clyde and Doris Hamilton Cress. Walter served in the Army National Guard after High School then worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator/Supervisor for General Paving and worked for the WVU PRT System. He enjoyed hunting, going to gun bashes, and was an avid follower of WVU sports and Pirates baseball. He was a member of the Morgantown Moose Lodge #264. Walter is survived by his sons, John J. Cress and his wife Misty of Morgantown and Ron Cress and his wife Brooke of Round Hill, VA; four grandchildren: Brandon Cress, Bradley Cress, Garrett Cress, and Camden Cress; one great grandson Noah Cress; Ex wife and the mother of his two boys, Shirley A. Cress. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Cress, Jr. and Gerald Lee Cress. Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Thursday, August 11th from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Jody Donham officiating. Interment will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
