Beverly Charlene Cress, left us on January 26, 2024, wrapping up a life as warm and intricate as the quilts she crafted. Charlene was born on July 29, 1947, in Morgantown, WV, where she also peacefully passed away, encircled by the love of her family and the community that meant so much to her. Charlene’s life was marked by love, dedication, and service. Predeceased by her beloved husbands, Robert Eugene Hern and Jackie Lee Cress, she continued to embrace life's journey with strength and grace. A proud and loving mother, her legacy thrives through her children Shaun (Traci) (Jonna), Darren (Lisa), Cale (Yvonne), and Royce. Beverly's joy was multiplied by her cherished grandchildren: Zayne, Garret, Haden, Tehya, Leah, Dave, Daniel, Dakota, Briauna, Deidre, and Tristen, along with her precious great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Sydney, Evelyn, Vincent, Carson, Madalynn, Scarlett, and Lewis. Charlene is also survived by her brother: Dwight Galen Kennedy; and niece: Michelle. Throughout her career, Charlene was known for her reliability and warmth, working in retail, as an Avon representative, and retiring after a commendable 18-year tenure with the US Postal Service as a distributor. Her passions extended beyond her work to her hobbies which included quilting, crocheting, and calligraphy – all endeavors that showcased her creativity and attention to detail. Committed to making the world a better place, Charlene supported various organizations such as the ASPCA, Humane Society, National Wildlife Foundation, World Wildlife Federation, and the Nature Conservancy. Described as loving and kind by all who knew her, she imparted a sense of beauty and care in everything she touched.
