Arvedia Darlene Stansberry, 83, of Core, WV, closed her eyes to earthly life and started the new year in eternity on January 1, 2024. Dee began her life on December 11, 1940 in Morgantown, WV, born to the late Marcus Hanna and Ruby Lewis Hanna. Dee was devoted to her country, and bravely served the in United States Army. Following her military service, she spent her working years serving as a manager at Ames Department Store in Morgantown and she retired from Kroger in Star City. Dee was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and friend. Dee leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters: Brenda Mayfield (Danny), of Fairmont, Dixie Black of Morgantown; son: George Ridgway Jr. (Joyce) of Core; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; a sister: Trinka McCord of Bridgeport; and many extended family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10 am until 12 pm. A funeral service will be held at McCulla Funeral Home at 12 noon with Pastor Jeremiah Bostic officiating. Following the service, interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, in Mt. Morris, PA.
